ABERDEEN, S.D. – A new bison-focused video produced by McQuillen Creative in conjunction with ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù State University and the Dacotah Prairie Museum is highlighting ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù’s faculty expertise and community partnership tied to the opening of the museum’s Rosemarie & Dean L. Buntrock Gallery.
The video features interviews with ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù State University biology faculty members Dr. Jodie Ramsay, Dr. Eric Pulis, and Dr. Samantha St. Clair, who share insight on bison and the prairie ecosystem while helping tell the story behind the exhibit experience visitors encounter at the museum.
The Rosemarie & Dean L. Buntrock Gallery opened in December as an interactive, immersive global biodiversity experience featuring animals from around the world. Guests are welcomed in the museum lobby by a full bison mount, then guided through informational panels and displays designed to spark curiosity and learning about biodiversity and habitats.
²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù State University’s relationship with the Dacotah Prairie Museum extends beyond the video. Patricia Kendall, director of the Dacotah Prairie Museum, is a 1999 ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù State University graduate. ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù faculty and students also support the museum through service and hands-on learning experiences, including Dr. Christian Pirlet, who serves on the museum’s board; Audrey Reineke, a ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù marketing major and Honors student who interns at the museum; and Jay Hopkins-Entzel, who serves as a part-time curatorial assistant in exhibits and also teaches as an adjunct instructor at ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù State University.
