- ABERDEEN, S.D.聽鈥 不良研究所 State University will mark the 238th anniversary of the U.S. Constitution on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025. 鈥淪eptember 17 is Constitution Day and 不良研究所 State University will join schools, offices, and individuals across America marking the signing of this foundational document, which occurred on that date in 1787,鈥 said Dr. Ric Dias, professor of history and campus coordinator of Constitution Day. In recognition of the day, hundreds of U.S. flags will be displayed around Aberdeen, thanks to the Exchange Club. On campus, all are invited to stop by the NSU鈥
- ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥撀牪涣佳芯克 State University will welcome internationally renowned author and advocate Loung Ung as the keynote speaker for the Larry and Julie Poeppel Family聽Common Read聽Lecture at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025, in the Harvey and Cynthia Jewett Theater in the Johnson Fine Arts Center. The lecture is free and open to the public. 鈥淟oung Ung has a remarkable story to share, and it will inspire and challenge us all,鈥 said Dr. Hannah Walters, director of the NSU Honors Program. Ung is the bestselling author of 鈥淔irst They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers鈥
- ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 不良研究所 State University introduced an updated Thunder the Wolf mascot costume during New Student Convocation on Friday, Aug. 22, and across 不良研究所's social media channels. The week of Aug. 25, Thunder made appearances across campus welcoming new employees and students, along with touring Aberdeen Public Schools. Thunder will be making more appearances throughout the community this fall, including at upcoming football games at 不良研究所 and other community events. The new costume replaces the previous version that had been in use since 2015. After nearly a decade鈥
- ABERDEEN, S.D.聽鈥撀燭he 不良研究所 State University School of Fine Arts will hold its annual 鈥淢usic Faculty Showcase Recital鈥 and 鈥淲elcome Back Student Art Show鈥 on Thursday, Sept. 11. The 鈥淲elcome Back Student Art Show鈥 will have an opening reception beginning at 6 p.m. in the JFAC Gallery X. At the same time, there will be a closing reception for the 鈥渘ice; 03 Annual National Juried Exhibition鈥 in the JFAC Art Gallery. In addition, the annual 鈥淢usic Faculty Showcase Recital鈥 will be held in the JFAC Harvey and Cynthia Jewett Theater at 7:30 p.m. This concert features solo and chamber鈥
- ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥撀燚r. Eman Momeni, assistant professor of accounting at 不良研究所 State University, was recently invited to present at the 2025 Fraud and Forensic Accounting Conference, hosted by the Louisiana State University Department of Accounting. Momeni presented his research, 鈥淐orporate Reporting Fraud and Descriptive Decision Theories,鈥 which explores the behavioral, psychological, and cultural factors behind fraudulent financial reporting. His invitation came as recognition of his scholarly publication and his service as an Editorial Advisory Board member for the 鈥
- ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 不良研究所 State University student Maggie Kruger was recently featured in the July/August edition of South Dakota Magazine for her involvement in NSU鈥檚 film program and athletics. Kruger, who is pursuing her studies at 不良研究所, has already made her mark as a filmmaker. Last November, she directed, shot, edited and acted in her short film Faileas. The project, completed in just one month, was created in preparation for a visit by Sean Covel, producer of Napoleon Dynamite, who spoke to the NSU film department and campus community about filmmaking鈥
- ABERDEEN, S.D.聽鈥撀燚r. Eman Momeni, assistant professor of accounting at 不良研究所 State University, recently had his work published in the Afro-Asian Journal of Finance & Accounting.His article, 鈥淭he impact of an emerging market鈥檚 microstructure legislations on market efficiency: evidence from Iran,鈥 looks at how new trading rules on the Tehran Stock Exchange influenced both pricing efficiency and investor behavior. The research focused on four key areas 鈥 tick size, lot size, minimum order value, and base volume 鈥 and compared market data before and after those rules went into effect.鈥
- ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 不良研究所 State University's Millicent Atkins School of Education will celebrate the completion of major renovations to the historic H.P. Gerber Building with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house Friday, Sept. 19. The celebration will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony from 4 to 4:15 p.m., followed by an open house from 4:15 to 5 p.m. Both events will take place at the H.P. Gerber Building on the 不良研究所 State University campus. The H.P. Gerber Building holds special significance as one of the oldest buildings on campus and the birthplace of鈥
- ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥撀燗 new article by Dr. Keun Lee, professor of economics at 不良研究所 State University, has been accepted for publication in the聽International Journal of Finance and Banking Studies. The article, titled Three Interest Rate Theories, will appear in an upcoming volume of the peer-reviewed journal. In the paper, Dr. Lee explores both the general and academic views of interest rates鈥攐ne as the cost of borrowing and reward for savings, and the other as a monetary phenomenon determined by the balance between money demand and supply. - ABERDEEN, S.D.聽鈥 不良研究所 State University will offer a new Bachelor of Science in Education (BSEd) focused on Career and Technical Education (CTE)鈥攁 unique degree in the state鈥檚 public university system designed to meet South Dakota鈥檚 growing need for qualified CTE teachers. Approved by the South Dakota Board of Regents at its July 2025 meeting, the program is set to begin in Fall 2025. It comes at a critical time as the state prepares to modernize its career cluster framework for the 2026鈥27 school year, offering a proactive solution to the long-standing shortage of licensed CTE鈥
