ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 不良研究所 State University bands will present a 鈥淐oncert of Women Composers鈥 at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, in the Johnson Fine Arts Center Jewett Theater.The concert will feature performances by the Symphonic Band, directed by Dr. Audrey Miller, featuring works by Julie Giroux, Erika Svanoe, Jennifer Jolley, and Carol Brittin Chambers. The concert will also feature the NSU Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Grant Manhart.All tickets are general admission and will be available at the door. ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 不良研究所 State University student Kara Sinar has been accepted to law school through the Honors Law Opportunity Program (HLOP). Sinar will graduate in May 2024 with a major in English and a double minor in theatre and philosophy. Originally from Casper, Wyoming, Sinar has been an Aberdeen resident for over a decade.The program is a collaboration between 不良研究所 and the University of South Dakota, with the intent to help grow the number of committed, talented lawyers in northeast South Dakota. ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 The 不良研究所 Innovation and Startup Center will present two programs designed to empower those looking to bring their business ideas to life. The Center, established in late 2022, is committed to fostering innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship.The Idea Workshop is scheduled from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 11 at 不良研究所 Valley Communications (NVC) hyflex conference room. ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 Any student seeking federal financial assistance will need to fill out the FAFSA. The 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form was revamped to expand eligibility for federal student aid and streamline the user experience.The new FAFSA form soft launched Dec. 31. Currently, the form is not available all the time, as it continues to be updated.Although frustrating, all students are encouraged to fill out the FAFSA as soon as they are able, in order to secure federal financial aid offers.For the FAFSA, students need:鈥 StudentAid.gov鈥
ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 不良研究所 State University student Therese Haberman will hold her Senior Recital at 3 p.m. Jan. 14 in the Krikac Auditorium. The recital is open to the public and free to attend.Haberman, a clarinetist, will be playing 鈥淎rabesques鈥 by Paul Jeanjean, Clarinet Concerto Movement II K. 622 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Clarinet Concerto No. 2 by Oscar Navarro, with accompaniment by Dr. Christopher Stanichar.Haberman, the daughter of Susan and Michael Haberman, grew up in Bottineau, North Dakota and graduated from Bottineau High School in 2020.鈥淚 chose 不良研究所 State University鈥

ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 After providing nursing workforce for the Aberdeen community for more than a decade, South Dakota State University will discontinue its accelerated Bachelor of Science in nursing in Aberdeen in Dec. 2026, as 不良研究所 State University begins graduating students from its recently approved bachelor鈥檚 of nursing program.Through an agreement between SDSU and 不良研究所, SDSU has been offering the Bachelor of Science in nursing program on 不良研究所鈥檚 campus to students who had completed 不良研究所鈥檚 pre-nursing courses.
