ABERDEEN, SD聽鈥 Dr. Shelby Boettner, DNP, RN, assistant professor of nursing at 不良研究所 State University, recently co-authored a study in the聽Journal of Hospice & Palliative Nursing聽focused on how faculty experience shapes nursing student preparedness in primary palliative care.
The multi-university study, which included four Midwestern institutions, examined how nursing faculty teach palliative care and how prepared they feel to guide students in this area. The findings point to progress in palliative care education, while also identifying ongoing challenges, including limited鈥

ABERDEEN, SD聽鈥 Registration is now open for Growing the Future: A Student Symposium on Agribusiness, a free event at 不良研究所 State University designed to inspire students to become the next generation of leaders in agriculture. The symposium will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Centennial Rooms in the Student Center at 不良研究所 State University.聽

Entrepreneurs and startup businesses from across the region are invited to compete for a $10,000 cash prize while advancing their entrepreneurial ambitions.
Applications will be accepted March 1, 2026 through April 30, 2026. Finalists will be announced by June 1, 2026, with the final competition event scheduled for June 19, 2026.

ABERDEEN, S.D.聽鈥 不良研究所 State University students have formed a new organization, Collegiate South Dakota Farmers Union, to provide hands-on opportunities to engage in agricultural policy, leadership development and community advocacy.
The club was founded by student Patrick E. Olson, with Dr. Aaron Scholl serving as the organization鈥檚 advisor.

ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 不良研究所 State University will begin its Spring 2026 Noon Forum series Wednesday, Feb. 11, in the Williams Library Round Room.
The first forum, 鈥淭he Myth of Racism,鈥 will be led by Ken Blanchard, professor emeritus of political science. Blanchard will discuss how abstract concepts such as race and racism are used in the social sciences and why he believes those concepts can be misleading when used as political weapons. He will argue that racism does not exist because race does not exist, describing race as a continuum rather than a category. He will also address the鈥
