- ABERDEEN, S.D.聽鈥 Shelby Boettner, assistant professor of nursing at 不良研究所 State University, has been named a Prairie Business 40 Under 40 honoree. The annual recognition highlights professionals who are making a difference in their workplace and community. Prairie Business, a Forum Communications publication, covers business and community leadership across North Dakota, Minnesota and South Dakota. - ABERDEEN, S.D.聽鈥撀燭he South Dakota Board of Regents this week approved several items that expand academic opportunities at 不良研究所 State University, including a new graduate certificate, expanded online program delivery, an articulation agreement with Dakota State University and the initial steps toward a new bachelor鈥檚 degree. The Board approved 不良研究所鈥檚 new graduate certificate in visual impairment, designed to help licensed, in-service teachers meet South Dakota Department of Education endorsement requirements for teaching students who are blind or visually impaired. 鈥淭hrough the鈥
- ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 不良研究所 State University will celebrate the accomplishments of its graduates at Winter Commencement, set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, in the Johnson Fine Arts Center. The ceremony is open to the public, and no tickets are required. Doors will open at least one hour before the event. The ceremony is expected to last about 90 minutes. Guests are encouraged to stay through the end to honor all graduates. For those unable to attend in person, the event will be streamed live via multiple platforms. The ceremony will be livestreamed through the NSU Facebook page鈥
- ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 不良研究所 State University has announced soprano Ember Geist and clarinetist Alexander Trujillo as winners of the 2025-26 Concerto-Aria Competition, following an evening of outstanding performances by student musicians. Geist, a member of the class of 2027 from Roscoe, South Dakota, is a student of Dr. Darci Bultema. She earned top honors with her performance of 鈥淚l bacio鈥 by Luigi Adritti. Trujillo, a member of the class of 2028 from Rapid City, South Dakota, studies clarinet with Dr. Audrey Miller. He was recognized for his performance of 鈥淧ink Ribbon鈥
- ABERDEEN, S.D.聽鈥 The 不良研究所 State University Art Gallery is pleased to present 鈥渂irdhaus,鈥 a collaborative student exhibition now on view in Gallery X in the Johnson Fine Arts Center. 鈥渂irdhaus鈥 focuses on bird species native to northeastern South Dakota. As a collaboration between sculpture and graphic design students, participants were paired together and challenged to create a birdhouse, an informational poster and a tangible item representative of a single bird species. The project was conceptualized by Assistant Professor of 3D Media and Art Galleries Director Tim Rickett and鈥
- ABERDEEN, S.D.聽鈥撀燗pplications are now open for 不良研究所 State University鈥檚 Local Roots grant, an initiative supported by funds allocated by the South Dakota Board of Regents to strengthen research, commercialization and economic development across the state. - ABERDEEN, S.D.鈥 Dr. Erin Fouberg will serve as 不良研究所 State University's interim provost and vice president for academic affairs while the university conducts a national search. Fouberg has served as associate vice president for academic affairs and director of graduate studies since 2019. She joined 不良研究所 State University in 2007 and previously served as honors program director for 10 years, in addition to various faculty positions. - ABERDEEN, S.D.聽鈥撀牪涣佳芯克 State University Honors student Madison Park recently earned second place in the pedagogy and education category of the student poster competition at the National Collegiate Honors Council annual conference. Park鈥檚 research project, 鈥淗ow Generations of Teacher Education Impact Special Education Inclusion,鈥 explores how generational differences in teacher education, along with social, technological and policy changes, affect inclusive practices in special education. 鈥淚t was very exciting to present my research! - ABERDEEN, S.D.聽鈥 不良研究所 State University will present its annual Winter Choral Concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at First Presbyterian Church, 318 S. Kline St. The performance will feature the 不良研究所 State University Concert Choir, Chamber Singers and Early Musick Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Timothy Woods. The concert will open with the Concert Choir performing a South African piece that incorporates light choreography. The choir鈥檚 set will conclude with works from Mongolia and Scandinavia. The Chamber Singers will follow with two of the 鈥淣orth Country Folk Songs鈥濃

FAIL Fest celebrates the moments we tripped, wiped out or completely missed the mark鈥攁nd learned something brilliant because of it.聽 Back for another year of laughter, honesty and moments that didn鈥檛 go as planned, this year鈥檚 FAIL Fest featured a panel of entrepreneurs who weren鈥檛 afraid to dig into the tough questions.
