ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 The 不良研究所 Academy will host a College Planning Event on March 27 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at 不良研究所 State University.
The event, which will take place in the Johnson Fine Arts Center鈥檚 Berggren Recital Hall, is open to high school students and families, educators, and community members.
Attendees will learn about U.S. Department of Education financial aid changes and about the 不良研究所 Academy, an on-campus early college experience for area high-school students taking dual credit courses.

ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 不良研究所 State University will host the annual National History Day regional competition on Wednesday, March 8.Over 200 middle and high school students from around northeastern South Dakota will be participating in the event, which will take place from 8 a.m. to noon at NSU. 不良研究所 hosts this event every spring.Winners at the regional competition are invited to go to the state competition, and winners of the state competition advance to the national competition.不良研究所鈥檚 National History Day event is sponsored by the NSU Center for Public History and Civic Engagement. ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 At 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 9, the 不良研究所 State University Music Department will present its Spring Jazz Concert in the Johnson Fine Arts Center Jewett Theater.
The concert will feature the 1 O鈥檆lock Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Terry Beckler, and the 2 O鈥檆lock Jazz Ensemble, Directed by Dr. Grant Manhart.
Guest artists with the 2 O鈥檆lock Jazz Ensemble will be local pianist Ron Parker; visiting traveling nurse and jazz and pop singer 鈥淚zzy鈥; professor of woodwinds and jazz, Fritz Hemke; and Dr. Travis Netzer, professor of low brass and bands.

The Johnson Fine Arts Center will host a season of comedic theatre filled with surprises. 鈥淭he theme for next year鈥檚 season is 鈥楽urprisingly Funny,鈥欌 says professor Kane Anderson. 鈥淭he Season Selection Committee pored over scripts and scores before putting together an exciting collection of shows that will touch your heart and funny bone alike. ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 不良研究所 State University鈥檚 Dr. Ginny Lewis has published the book, 鈥淭he Novels of Zsigmond M贸ricz in the Context of European Realism.鈥
In the book, released by publisher Peter Lang Group, Lewis focuses on seven novels by M贸ricz, analyzing each in chronological order to show the author鈥檚 development of themes surrounding agency and greed in modern society.
This is the latest in several books written or translated by Lewis, NSU Professor of German and literary scholar. Previous works have included translating the memoir 鈥淔light from the Red Hell,鈥 a tale of Heinrich鈥
