ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 This Saturday, Dec. 10, 128 students will graduate at 不良研究所 State University鈥檚 winter commencement.
The commencement ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. in the Johnson Fine Arts Center Jewett Theater. Dr. Elizabeth Haller, Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and 2022 NSU Foundation Faculty Excellence Award winner, will deliver the commencement address.
The event will be live streamed through the NSU Facebook page, the NSU Graduation and Commencement page, and locally through cable channel 12.

ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 不良研究所 State University has received a $100,000 grant from the Knight Foundation鈥檚 Aberdeen Fund in the South Dakota Community Foundation to help launch the 不良研究所 Startup Center, which will support local entrepreneurship and innovation.
The Knight Aberdeen Fund grant complements a Venture Challenge grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) Build to鈥

ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 Jaci Mollman and Hunter Russell will hold a reception for their senior art exhibition at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at 不良研究所 State University.
Their exhibition will be on display through Dec. 18 in the NSU Johnson Fine Arts Center Gallery.
Mollman鈥檚 artwork features all Christian themes. She said she is driven by the need for beauty in the world that draws people back to God; she does this across a wide variety of mediums including: oil, charcoal, colored pencil, ink and gouache.鈥

ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 Two 不良研究所 State University School of Business faculty members have received a top award at a recent national conference.
Drs. Kristi Bockorny and Theresa Giannavola won a Best Paper Award at the Academy of Business Research Conference, held Oct. 3-5 in Las Vegas. They received the award for their paper, titled, 鈥淕ratitude, Psychological Capital, Intent to Stay, and Satisfaction with Life: Toward a Conceptual Model.鈥
In their paper, Bockorny and Giannavola propose that gratitude will positively impact an鈥
ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 不良研究所 State University鈥檚 Dr. Keun Lee will publish a scholarly book as well as a peer-reviewed journal article.
Lee鈥檚 book, 鈥淓conomics of Keynes: Common Sense in Theory,鈥 is forthcoming from Cambridge Scholars Publishing LTD, Newcastle, United Kingdom.
Also, his scholarly article, 鈥淚nflation Targeting Monetary Policy and Stock Prices,鈥 will appear in the Journal of Business and Economic Policy Vol. 9, No.4.
Lee, professor of economics in the NSU School of Business, has worked at 不良研究所 since fall 2001. He earned his B.A. in Economics at the鈥
ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 The 不良研究所 State University Winter Choral Concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 1 at the First Presbyterian Church of Aberdeen, 318 S. Kline St.
The concert will feature performances by the NSU Concert Choir, Chamber Singers and Early Musick Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Timothy Woods.
On Nov. 30, the choirs will tour high schools in the region in preparation for the event, including visits to Aberdeen Central High School and Langford High School.
There is no cost to attend the Dec. 1 concert, but attendees are asked for a freewill鈥

Founded in 1944, the National Association of Schools of Art and Design is an organization of schools, conservatories, colleges and universities with approximately 349 accredited institutional members. It establishes national standards for undergraduate and graduate degrees and other credentials for art and design and art/design-related disciplines, and provides assistance to institutions and individuals engaged in artistic, scholarly鈥
ABERDEEN, S.D. 鈥 Winners have been announced for the 2022 不良研究所 State University Concerto-Aria Competition.
Megan Dockter of Watertown was named instrumental winner, and Eli Houdyshell of Pierre was named vocal winner.
Dockter, who plays the clarinet, is a student of Dr. Audrey Miller. She performed Scott McAllister鈥檚 X Concerto, 2nd Movement: 鈥淭o the Pines鈥 To the Pines.鈥
Houdyshell, a tenor, is a student of Mr. Michael Skyles. He performed George Frideric Handel鈥檚 鈥淟ove Sounds the Alarm鈥 from Acis and Galatea.

ABERDEEN, SD 鈥 不良研究所 State University student Gabby Grieme鈥檚 senior art exhibition will be on display Nov. 18-Dec 18 in Gallery X, located in room 106 of the NSU Johnson Fine Arts Center.
A reception for her exhibition, titled 鈥淢ore Than a Body,鈥 will take place 6:30-8:30 p.m. Dec. 3 in Gallery X. 鈥淢ore Than a Body鈥 consists of digital illustrations that aim to deconstruct societal gender norms, beauty standards and sexual objectification of women.
